What's the difference between ASAPSitters and sites like Care.com & Sittercity?
A: Yes, you need to register as a member or subscriber or for a one-time request. After you register, you can ask for a babysitter through our calendar matching technology. If you are looking for a long-term babysitter, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
A: If you are from out-of-town, visiting one of our services areas and need a babysitter just for one time, use our regular registration form. In the City and Zipcode fields, enter the city and zipcode you are visiting. At the bottom of the form, choose the subscription/membership option "One-time sitter request".
A: We charge:
A subscription or membership fee, for a period that you choose: monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual. We automatically bill you through your Paypal account. If you don't have one, it's free and very easy to open one.
Subscribers are charged a referral fee per babysitter request: $9.95 applies each time a babysitter is confirmed via online request and $14.95 if a babysitter is referred and/or confirmed via phone or email. The referrals are billed monthly to your Paypal account or emailed invoice.
Members get an unlimited number of referrals at no charge
See our service fees page for more details.
A: You pay the babysitter an amount agreed upon ahead of time between you and the babysitter. Babysitters' rates are posted on their profiles. They range from $12 to $25. We do not intervene between families and babysitters in the rate negociation. Please read our service agreement for details on your responsilibities and the babysitter's.
This is the relevant section of our Service Agreement:
"Client and the babysitter candidate have the full and complete authority to negotiate the terms and conditions of child care service per referral. Client and the babysitter candidate must, however, comply with all applicable state laws, rules and regulations. In the event Client or the babysitter candidate does not comply with any such law, rule or regulation, Client will indemnify and hold harmless ASAPSitters, LLC from any and all claims arising from such noncompliance."
A: Once you are a subscriber or member, you can make an on-line Babysitter Request from your account Calendar page. We currently monitor all the online requests to make sure your babysitter requests are filled in a timely manner. Your calendar will display all your babysitter requests, colored by status.
A: When you make an on-line Babysitter Request, you will be shown profiles of available babysitters to choose from. You can then click on a link ask one or several babysitters of your choice to babysit for you. The babysitter(s) you are asking will accept or decline the request, and you will be notified by email. When you request a babysitter by email, phone, or text, you will be emailed a detailed profile(s) for an available babysitter(s). Once you approve the babysitter, she/he will be confirmed for you and will give you a Check-in Call prior to the scheduled babysitting date.
Detailed information about all babysitters, including references and Background Checks, is available by request. Please see our Service Fees page for more detailed information about fees.
A: You will receive an email notification that a babysitter has accepted. If you requested several babysitters, the first one to accept will be confirmed.
A: You will receive an email notification that a babysitter has declined. If you requested only one babysitter, you can:
1. Login to your account, and request another babysitter, or
2. Cancel the request.
If you requested several babysitters, you can also wait until another accepts or decline.
If all babysitters decline, the status of your request will be "waiting for client" (the system is waiting for you to choose a babysitter, or cancel the request).
This is the email notification you'll receive when a babysitter declines. A link is provided in the email to go directly to your request on the site.

A: At ASAPSitters we will respond to you quickly and personally and we hold our babysitters accountable. We know you want a trustworthy, experienced, and reliable babysitter for your child or children. You can be confident knowing all our sitters have been carefully selected and thoroughly pre-screened. Many sitter applicants to do not make it through our screenining process. In the event of a babysitter emergency cancellation, we've got your back and will work dilligently to make sure you're got the childcare coverage you need.
Q: How does ASAPSitters screen babysitters?
A: All prospective babysitters fill out our extensive Babysitter Application. We want to know how a babysitter candidate thinks about childcare and child development; what she or he considers age-appropriate activities, what age groups s/he has exprience with, how s/he thinks about challenges and discipline, how s/he would handle an emergency; and many more important aspects of caring for children. The application is then reviewed and if it meets our qualifications, an interview is conducted. After the interview, we begin verification of personal and professional references, as well as a nationwide criminal background & sex offender check. We also require that all babysitters have a current driver’s license or ID and documentation of legal eligibility for employment. Detailed information about any babysitter is available to our families, including references and background checks.
