How ASAP Works

   

Once we have your application, we will set up a time with you to go over the following (in-person or over the phone):

  • Discuss your family’s specific needs
  • Go over and sign the Client/Agency Referral Agreement (if you choose to register by phone you will need to mail or fax us a signed copy)
  • Pay the $40.00 annual registration fee (if you choose to register by phone a credit card is required)
  • Review sitter profiles (if you choose to register by phone we can email you profile summaries)
  • Schedule any sitters needed at this time.

Requesting a Sitter

“Regular Referrals” are any sitter requests made 48 hours (2 working days) or more in advance. Any requests made for a sitter that are less than 48 hours (2 working days) notice are considered “Emergency Referrals.” Every possible effort will be made to accommodate your request, but we are unable to make guarantees with any sitter requests.

Requests that come in at 6pm or later on Friday will be considered as a request coming in on the following Monday.

The regular referral fee is $10.00 per referral. For all requests coming in with 48 hours or less notice the referral fee is $15. For all requests coming in with 24 hours notice or less the fee is $20. Please see our Service Fees page for more detailed information.

Sitter Screening Process

All prospective sitters fill out our extensive Sitter Application. The application is then reviewed and if it meets our qualifications, a preliminary phone interview is conducted. If the sitter successfully completes the preliminary phone interview, a personal interview follows. After the personal interview, we begin verification of personal and professional references, previous work experience, and child care references, as well as a criminal background check. We also require that all sitters have a current driver’s license and auto insurance and provide documentation proving so.

Detailed sitter profiles consisting of resumes, previous work experience, copies of credentials and/or certifications, personal interview questions and answers, and references are prepared for the client to review at the initial meeting.
