Hello! My name is Ali and I am originally from Tampa, Florida. I received my Bachelors of Science in Family and Child Sciences from Florida State University. I traveled the country teaching leadership to middle and high school students and later started coordinating the conferences. I have been baby-sitting since I was 14 for kids ranging in age from infancy to 11. I have also held various volunteer positions ranging from teaching preschool children the fundamentals of reading while in college to most recently being a Guardian ad Litem, which is an advocate for children that are in the dependency court. If I were to ask the kids I have baby sat to describe me they would say I am fun, funny, and always look forward to seeing me!
Hi, my name is Allison Givens, and I am looking forward to getting to know your family!I am currently 23 year olds living in Alexandria, VA. I have worked with children of all ages since my first babysitting job in high school. In college, I worked as a babysitter and a camp counselor. As a former camp counselor, I worked with all ages ranging from 5-15, and I am prepared with many games and crafts that I'd love to do with your children. After college, I became a teacher for DC's charter schools. I am in my second year teaching and would love too help your children with their homework if they need it! Working with children is my greatest passion in life, and I hope to get the opportunity to work with your family.
I possess more than 20 years of experience in caring for children. I have done so in daycare centers as well as private residences, for ages 0 to 17 years old and am comfortable with all ages. I can sit in the VA/DC/MD area(a travel fee may apply) and am also available to travel with families. I really enjoy spending time with children and can best be described as fun loving, nurturing, patient, compassionate, responsible, and energetic. I do all this, while knowing how to keep the vibes relaxed, when necessary. I currently care for(and have been since they were born) my 4 year old niece and nephew and 1 yr old nephew, from time to time, so I'm very comfortable with small toddlers and am the parent of two fantastic girls, ages 19 and 11 years old. I also currently freelance part-time, as a children's party host and Face Paint artist. I'm 38 years old, just refreshed my CPR/Child/AED training and have a valid driver's license. Since my youngest child does spend a lot of time with me, as long as a family doesn't object, I will bring her. I find the children that I care for are always so excited to have another child come along to play, and the experience works out great for everyone. However, if a family prefers I don't bring her, that is absolutely alright as well. I look forward to discussing with you soon, how I can be an important asset to your family.
I have been working with children since I was fifteen. My experience over the years have allowed me to work with children ages 3-18. I have also had the pleasure of working with individuals in special groups such as adjudicated youth and those that suffer from autism. My flexibility in working with children has taught me how to be patient and understanding. Currently, I am actively engaged in learning the craft of Montessori teaching. I hope to utilize this skill set during the hours in which I'm sitting.
